In the Eye of the Storm

eye of the storm from space

Let me bluster out my disdain towards the enemy!

In The Eye Of a Storm is when I believe all is well.

That  is when I am most susceptible to danger.

I’ve been lost before, persuaded to think only of self.

But we can go beyond the mundane.

Though the media tells me to embrace gratifying my own desires, I understand that there is much more to life than pleasure.

There is definitely a lot to this planet, and I refuse to be a puppet to my own selfish thoughts.

We can correct what those of the past were not able to do.

We can fix and protect everyone in the room

Anyone you assume, is a person like you

who struggles till the death and needs encouragement too!

For there is told in histories past that sometimes plans don’t go according to plan.

Yet, with proper planning and appropriate handling life can…

At least be understood and show a purpose of I,

not a seeming defining by a standard of mine.

A moral absolute that is beyond the concept of time.

Where we see apparent design deep down the Divine…

We see it inscribed in all we can find

In the old testament we see the house of Israel become complacent many times in the biblical narrative.

They go through periods of living for God and others living for self and other gods.

I earnestly believe that to whom much is given much will be demanded.

God has entrusted us to proclaim His message and its not just pretending and pretentiously claiming to be a true Christian without actually doing the things we are COMMANDED to do.

Let’s unite as a body, regardless of what God has revealed to us, and where we are on our walk.

Yet we should never push our beliefs though we should use scripture when speaking with each other,

and allow God’s Spirit to move in us,

Which ALONE guides us to truth.

We can only pray for each other.

God does the rest!

Gregarious Troglodyte

Gregarious Troglodyte prison picture black and white with guards and warden

Gregarious Troglodyte

(Written in Prison)

In a place where the sun hardly shines.

Where many laugh when the pain is hard to hide.

Reality seems paused, standing still, until you realize things keep going without you.

Your mind wanders plus distorts memories.

You start wondering how different life could have been, if only you knew then what you know now.

You don’t like meeting new people, or at least sometimes you feel like you don’t.

You tell yourself you need to change and maybe that’s why rebelling was so appealing.

Then you wonder if there is more to life.

There must be.  The perplexity of everything, the simplicity of nothing.

The concept of concept.

What is a thought?

How much does it weigh?

15385269923_e4cf56a8c1_mWhere were you before you were?

Cogito ergo sum. (I think, therefore I am).

So much you know.

So much you wish you didn’t…

What does it mean to you to be alone forever?

Separated and isolated.

In the dark.

With nothing but the memories you’ve collected,

Would that be punishment enough for the things that we’ve committed?

For the things we’ve thought?

Who considers himself not an evil person?

Self delusions are virulent and deadly, and can lead to our demise.

Don’t be deceived.

Trust not yourself, for you cannot be the perfect standard.

Neither can corrupt humanity.

What Can One Do To Change

picture taking on rocks, with water visible and a city beyond the water, a place I would ponder changing

What Can You Do To Change?

What can one do to change when what one does is all he’s ever done?

And if all he ever did is all he ever does, will it be all he’ll ever do?

The logic doesn’t follow.

If we continually do something, what can one do to change it?

Though we have certain habits,

these things have not always been a part of one’s life.

At a point in life,  one introduces regular customs into one’s reality,

and from there may arise the possibility of a habit.

I suggest that we all have some external things which we habitually return to.

Whatever these different things are,

vary from person to person but the result is the same.

A habit can become an addiction when it negatively begins to impact your life,

and when you no longer have control over the habit.

But Always Remember…

Remember though, the ability for us to change any pattern is in our power.

The reason we do not change at times lies first in our motivation to change and second in our constant reverting to old ways of doing things.

As you repeat anything throughout your life, that repeated thing becomes embedded into your brain.

The more you repeat a thing the deeper it becomes interwoven into your very being.

In order for any change to happen, one will need to,

not only decide to change,

but be constantly aware of one’s tendency to revert to old ways when first attempting to change.

Creating new patterns is important when first attempting to change any behavior.

Finding and believing your new paradigm, or model is the first step.

Once you have a model of the world that you wish to adhere to,

let others know of your shift in beliefs and have them hold you accountable to your goals.

One must be humbled completely and allow others to question them and their doings without being offended ever.

If one is serious about change,

one should not be bothered by others questioning what we do until all can easily and honestly see that change has happened.

Convincing Ourselves

Humanities Struggle

We strive to do what seems right unto our own eyes,

convincing ourselves all the days of our life.

We persuade ourselves others are wronging us and find reasons to shift our guilt or blame others.

Sometimes we even believe our own lies to free ourselves from our conscience.

Humans do this throughout their lives while finding comfort in their justifications.

Some find no rest later on when they begin to question their previous justifications.

This results in a striving for confirmation from others regarding the validity –or the invalidity– of past judgments,

though ultimately we are the ones who make our choices.

Until we cease to exist we will be incapable of ridding ourselves completely from our mistakes, incapacities, and ignorance.

Our lack of complete understanding should leave us with a yearning of gaining knowledge constantly.

The eyes of our mind should be,

at first,

focused on gaining knowledge and then

applying it as well.

Yet, there are many who are able to gain knowledge but are not possessed by the will to apply knowledge.

We all gain knowledge and apply it to an extent,

though it is all based on our way of looking at reality,

and the importance we place on such things.

If one is brought up to place little importance on such matters,

or to believe there is no objective way to view reality,

then it is safe to conclude,

with sound reasoning,

that the extent to which we can gain and apply knowledge is limited,

first to our upbringing,

and second,

to the constant individual choices,

we make throughout our life.

Knowing this,

we can strive to rationally make decisions based on the here and now,

and not hold onto beliefs simply because we were raised with them,

but because they align with reality.

What Are We Without Direction?

Man With many arrows pointing in many directions

A Man Once Asked…

“What are we without direction?”

If we only move toward the pattern we are used to

and only strive along its path because of our familiarity with it,

will it not bring us into a circle from which there is no escape?

For is it not when one easily embraces new paradigms

and ably decides to willingly follow the Truth,

no matter where it leads,

that one is able to truly have direction?

But preconceptions have directed your paths

since the first perceptions you had.

Now you are a result of the events that have transpired mixed along with your view of them all

and how you decide to respond to them.

All have a world-view.

All have a religion.

Whatever your model is for the way that you view the world around you is your belief system.

We all, systematically, and ritualistically perform a myriad of actions all the days of our life

which were programmed or whose roots are intertwined with our very innate nature.

Human Observation

What Is Observed

One experiences human observation individually.

One observes constantly through the available senses and decides what makes sense to them.

Along the path of the journey, one begins to realize what they believe their purpose is.

Even those who believe there is no purpose, have made it their purpose to believe such things.

There are those things which make more sense than others.

There is a way of looking at reality that is cohesive when looked at rationally and logically.

Of course these conflict depending on who we ask.

This makes sense since people are imperfect…

What Else Is Observed…

This brings me to another point of my own personal human observation.

We seem to universally understand we are not perfect.

We seem to see that we are not always good.

Of course, there are those who believe they might be perfect.

This is usually proved otherwise by those who know that person personally.

And You Know What Else…

All this talk about imperfection leads me to another observation!

How do we know what perfection looks like?

Some would say we are taught it by those who raised us.

I would say to an extent,

but there is something within us all which makes choices individually based on everything we are raised to believe.

If ideas of what is perfect, good, and right are not real but simply taught then one could never truly say a thing is right or wrong, or perfect or imperfect.

Yet that is not the case is it…

We all feel wronged when someone offends us.

If someone murders someone you love, you feel wronged.

If someone takes something of yours, you feel wronged.

Certain truths are universal,

though some may say otherwise until they are faced with it.

How Do We Know What Is Truth?

Since we have already proclaimed a humans knowledge of perfection yet his inability to achieve it,

how can one ever know the perfect truth?

We must seek deeper for the answer and realize that perfect truth is one with the creator of it.

All the universal laws that govern the universe,

all the perfect truths that exist,

point us to Him who is perfect.

Explaining Everything

However does one begin to explain it all?

Or could all ever be explored if one will not ever have enough time to explore the vastness that exists?

For what is human but what one is for the short duration they are here?

Since we simply are the sum of our experiences…

And since all have experienced different instances we can never see perfectly eye to eye exactly on all things that have had existence throughout time.

Though time is the same box we all live through, in this box we have experienced all things pertaining to our individual self.

All of our moments mixed in with our interactions with others (or lack thereof).

Those things are built from the interactions that raised us.  Whatever these interactions were, taught us and guided us for the better or worst…

Who can stand before another human and proclaim one’s complete innocence?

Or who is courageous enough to proclaim they have the full truth on all things?

Our own thoughts condemn us at times and the secret thoughts grow until our last breath is breathed.

Everyone with their own worldviews and secret thoughts.

Yet the commonality we all share is we understand such thing as good and correct must exist…

For if not we would not feel the condemnation we mentioned above.

Understanding that we are imperfect while trying to live by the guidance of a Being who is beyond us is the main point.

If this Being is the following things, we can rest assured in his way and wisdom.

This Being must be all-powerful, all-knowing, all-just, and all-righteous.

If this Being exists then no matter who you are,

He is able to guide you if you simply allow him to since not guiding you if you asked him to would not be “all-just”.

Some would ask on what grounds do I claim this Being exists.

Though it is impossible to show you this Being, one could rationally come to His conclusion by observation and logic.

Whether it makes more sense that all came from nothing versus from something is the first argument.

Science shows the universe did not exist and then “Bang” there was a universe.

Space, time, and matter all came into existence in the beginning and before that, it was not.

This is only the first step and simply shows that there is a cause for all things that must be accounted for.

I search for others who are searching for Truth.

Others who want to speak about what Truth actually is amongst others who are adamantly searching too.

I believe it is possible, for anyone who is simply willing.

Read why I believe this cause is a personal Being as opposed to an impersonal force next.

Can Anyone Know ‘What Is Purpose’ In 2018

picture of a galaxy that looks like an eye and makes you ponder your existence

Can Anyone Know ‘What Is Purpose’ In 2018?

Purpose and meaning are things that have become more of an individual decision in our postmodern world.  Does this mean each individual is equally correct?   Seems like it when you ask the majority of people.  A common phrase spoken is “do what makes you happy”, or “follow your heart” and other such feel-good phrases.   How can one believe everyone should follow their heart when there are individuals who in so doing would destroy as many lives as possible?

See the contradiction there?

If we were all to do whatever makes us happy all the time without limitations then a lot of people would be free to do things that would, in turn, hurt a lot of individuals.  Stealing would also be permissible as long as one’s not caught.  Lying would be the best choice in many situations.  Many unspeakable horrors would become permissible.  My thought is, ‘can we really define purpose individually’?

Can we trust ourselves with defining purpose on our own?  The first question I will raise is, do you consider yourself a perfect person?

This was the first eye-opening revelation that got me to question my purpose and meaning for being here.  If I believed myself to be perfect then logically I should follow my heart.  The thing is I understood I am not perfect.

What is perfection though…

Correct or incorrect.  Right or wrong. Perfect or imperfect.

Good and evil is where it all points, but do objective morals even exist?  Some say there is no such thing as good and evil.  To some good and evil is simply a product of social conditioning.  They argue that is why different cultures have different laws and rules that may be different from other culture’s laws and rules.

This must then equate with morality being relative to where you are from.

Allow me to propose a different theory.  Though social conditioning happens, this does not mean there is no absolute morals or purpose.

This theory goes back to our imperfections.  We recently discussed a humans inability to be perfect.  When we look at the choices we have made we understand we fail and do things we later feel convictions about.  Since all humans deal with imperfections, this means kings, presidents, and rulers also are imperfect, which ultimately affects the laws and rules of a society.   Since different rulers struggle with different imperfections, different laws may be made legal.  This affects the society, therefore conditioning different cultures differently.

Let’s get back to objective morals.  We need to establish they have to exist.  Only then can we can establish what purpose is.  How can we do this?  Since we can’t verify this empirically, we need to use logic and faith.  I know, I know, there is that word you’ve been waiting to see.  Don’t shut me off just yet.  You see…

All of us have faith in different things.  No one is 100% about anything.  Living on this planet requires faith when you jump in your car or when you walk into the school or work.  Yet we have faith things will go a certain way.

Logic And Reason

The faith you have is based on logic and reason.  All beliefs we carry are based on assumptions we make after gathering information.  These assumptions are our logical conclusions.

When it comes to morality, meaning, and destiny we need to look at our assumptions of the world very carefully.  Is it logical to say that there is objective morality?  If you believe this then you would also agree that a person murdering your family is not objectively wrong, you simply have an opinion that it is wrong.  Or if someone steals your wallet, it isn’t wrong, you just feel it is wrong.

Is that logical…

Purpose can never truly be defined if there is no good or evil.  People would be free to make up purpose, and we could never be able to objectively tell someone otherwise.

Humans are imperfect yet understand such a thing as perfection must exist.  We know within ourselves love and hate exist, the question becomes, how can we define love and hate or good and evil if we are all imperfect.  My answer will be the start of another blog I will write soon when time allows.
